Adobe Photoshop Web Design

Builds on the concepts and skills covered in Photoshop: Basic and Advanced. Students will learn how to optimize images for use on the Web, and will study the advantages of using image slicing techniques. In addition, this course covers how to create links and rollover effects in Web images. Finally, students will learn how to automate various Web tasks, creating droplets and Web photo galleries, and how to create animations for the Web. Features integrated mapping of Adobe Certified Expert exam objectives.

Course Content

Downsample and trim Web images to decrease file size; use the Save for Web command to optimize images for Web use; optimize a Web image to a target file size and apply lossy compression to specified image areas; and optimize images with transparency or simulated transparency.

Create a Web-page layout in ImageReady, and align elements with the grid and Smart Guides; create, edit, and optimize image slices; specify the content type and width of image slices; customize slice names; and export a sliced image as a set of image files with an associated HTML document.
 
Use the Slice palette in ImageReady to specify links and alternate text for slices; use the Image Map tools and the Image Map palette to create an image map; and create simple and remote rollovers based on layer visibility and layer styles.

Compare how images appear in Photoshop and a Web browser; process multiple images in one step; use ImageReady to create droplets that optimize images or perform actions; create Web photo galleries that are HTML based or Flash based; and create multiple variations of a graphic based on variable data.

Use the Animation and Layers palettes to create animations; and output animations for use on the Web.
